INTRODUCING OUR NEW YOUTH SHELTER – THE LANDING
We are thrilled to announce the upcoming opening of our new youth shelter, serving youth experiencing homelessness ages 15-21, opening January 2025. This shelter will be a safe haven, offering a place of belonging and hope for young people who need it most. With your help, we can make this dream a reality and create a place where youth can feel empowered to find their path to independence.
STORIES OF STRENGTH
After experiencing severe abuse from my parents, my grandmother took custody of me when I was a year old. Despite the trauma, I have thrived under her care. Recently, I received a Making Dreams Come True award. My short-term wish to meet my favorite YouTube influencer, #MoreJStu, came true when he surprised me at the awards gala and featured me in one of his videos. I also visited his studio in Colorado Springs. My long-term wish is to design and build a home for a family in need. I received drafting supplies and connections to architectural firms to help make this dream a reality. I’m living proof that dreams really do come true!

I am proud to say I recently graduated from high school. The Matthews House helped me to overcome many challenges, and I found a foster home that loves and encourages me to be the best version of myself. I’m attending firefighting school and taking college classes at AIMS to further my career aspirations this fall. I’m incredibly thankful to The Matthews House for their support throughout my journey!
